What We Do

What a DSTV Installer in Boksburg Actually Does

Fitting a dish is the easy half. The half that decides whether you call somebody again in six months is where the dish goes, how the cable gets to the TV, and whether the outdoor joins were sealed properly. Browse the four main services below, or see dish and LNB maintenance for a system that has been up a few years.

Why Us

Installations Made to Last a Highveld Summer

Boksburg sits around 1,614 m up, and the storms that come with that altitude are the single biggest reason satellite installations here fail early.

MultiChoice Accredited

Installations are done to MultiChoice standards, on HD, Explora and Explora Ultra decoders.

Built for Highveld Storms

Solid brackets, sealed outdoor connectors and cable clipped along its whole length — because an installation here has to survive a summer of thunderstorms, wind and hail.

Quote Before Work

You know what the job involves and what it costs before anything is drilled. Equipment is itemised separately from labour.

Help After the Job

How It Works

Booking an Installation, Step by Step

1

Tell us your suburb

Call or WhatsApp with your Boksburg suburb and what you need. Mention it if you're in a complex or renting — that changes what we can fix to the wall.

2

Send a few photos

A picture of the outside wall, your current dish and the back of the decoder helps us bring the right parts and give a realistic price rather than a range.

3

Agree the quote

We explain the work and the price first, with equipment listed separately from labour. Nothing gets drilled before you've said yes.

4

Install and test

We mount, cable and set up, then check signal quality on every TV point and show you where to find that reading yourself before we leave.

FAQ

Questions From Boksburg Homeowners

The things people ask us most about getting DStv installed and fixed around Boksburg. Something else on your mind? Call or WhatsApp us using the buttons below.

As a guide, a basic single-decoder installation starts from R800, an Explora installation from R1,200, and an Extra View setup from R1,500, with fault-finding call-outs from R550. Equipment such as decoders is charged separately. The final figure depends on the cable distance and how the dish has to be mounted, so we confirm it before starting — photos on WhatsApp usually get you an accurate number without a visit.

No. We're an independent installation team, not a MultiChoice branch, walk-in centre or agency. We fit and fix the equipment — the dish, the LNB, the cable and the decoder. Anything to do with your account, your payment or your smartcard is handled by MultiChoice directly on 011 289 2222, and they'll sort it out faster than we could.

East-north-east. The satellite DStv uses sits at 68.5 degrees east, which works out at an azimuth of roughly 62 degrees, an elevation of about 36 degrees and a skew of around 53 degrees. Those figures are the same right across the East Rand, so a neighbour's dish angle is a fair sanity check — but it is not a substitute for a meter, because a few degrees out is the difference between a stable picture and one that dies in the rain.

Yes, and the first thing to check is whether the scheme already has a communal dish feeding every unit. If it does, you connect to the point in your unit and nobody needs a dish of their own. If it doesn't, the body corporate's conduct rules usually say where a dish may go and whether written permission is needed first. Tell us which situation you're in and we'll plan around it.

You can, but get the landlord's or agent's agreement in writing first, because a new bracket means new holes in someone else's wall. There's often a dish there already from a previous tenant — those are worth testing before assuming they're dead, and reusing one is a lot cheaper than a fresh installation.

An E48 means the decoder isn't getting an adequate satellite signal. E48-32 is the weather-related version: heavy rain is weakening the signal, and it clears when the storm does. Nothing is broken and nothing needs fixing. If the picture does not come back once the sky has cleared, the usual causes are a dish that has moved, a failing LNB, water in a connector or damaged cable — we test each to find which.

E16 usually points to a subscription or smartcard issue rather than anything on your roof. Check your account at dstv.com or call MultiChoice on 011 289 2222. If the account is active and the error stays, get in touch and we'll check the decoder.

A nearby strike can put a surge down the mains or along the dish cable and take out a decoder, an LNB or a TV. That's storm damage rather than an installation fault, so it's diagnosed and quoted separately. The simplest prevention costs nothing: unplug the decoder at the wall when a storm is coming in.

Usually within a few days, and often sooner, because we work across Boksburg every day rather than travelling in for a job. Call or WhatsApp early and we'll tell you the soonest slot we genuinely have rather than the one that sounds best.
