DSTV Installation in Jansenpark, Boksburg

Jansenpark is a little over three kilometres from the Boksburg town centre, and it is the suburb East Rand Mall sits in — roughly four kilometres from the centre of town. That matters for a practical reason: plenty of people buy a decoder or sort out an account at the mall and then discover that the box is only half the job, because nothing on the screen works until there is a dish on the wall pointing at the right piece of sky.

You have the decoder. Now what?

A new decoder needs three things that do not come in the box: a dish with a clear view along the signal path, an LNB with a free output for it, and a cable between the two. If you are replacing an old decoder and the dish is already up and working, it is often a short visit — connect, scan, check the signal at the TV, hand it over. If there has never been a dish, it is a full installation and we will quote it as one.

If you are not sure which of those two you are, a photo of your outside wall and a photo of the back of your old decoder will tell us. We would rather establish that over WhatsApp than have you booked in for the wrong kind of appointment.

Flats and first-floor units

Where the unit is a flat, two extra questions come up. The first is whether the building has its own distribution system, in which case there is a socket to connect to and no dish to fit. The second is permission: in a sectional-title building, the outside wall and the balcony rail are usually common property, so the landlord or the body corporate decides what may be fixed to them. Sort that out before the appointment.

Where a dish is allowed, a balcony or a wall bracket is normally enough, and the cable comes in through an existing opening rather than a new hole wherever we can manage it. Where the view along the signal path is blocked by the building itself or by the one next door, we will say so honestly instead of mounting a dish that half works.

Houses and repairs in Jansenpark

For houses in the suburb the usual list applies: new installations, moving a dish after an extension or a new roof, adding a second point with Extra View, and fault-finding when a picture that used to be fine has started breaking up. We work with a signal meter rather than the decoder's on-screen bar, which is a blunt instrument by comparison.

Because we work across Boksburg every day rather than travelling in for the job, appointments in Jansenpark can usually be fitted into the same week, and often sooner. Call or WhatsApp and we will tell you the earliest slot we genuinely have.
